Dr. Annie Ashok is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in acute and chronic hand, wrist, and elbow conditions. She has experience treating traumatic injuries and performs repairs and reconstructions of tendons, nerves, and arteries in the hand and upper extremity, and provides acute fracture care for the upper extremity. Dr. Ashok is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS).
Dr. Ashok graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biology. She then attended Jefferson Medical College where she was elected to the Hobart Amory Hare Medical Honor Society, the George McClellan Surgical Honor Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society. After graduating with honors, she completed her Orthopedic Surgery residency at Hahnemann University Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Ashok also trained under several Hand and Orthopedic surgeons in the Philadelphia area including those at the Rothman Institute and the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.
Dr. Ashok completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During her fellowship, Dr. Ashok trained under the team physician for the Houston Texans and cared for professional and collegiate athletes including the Houston Texans, the Houston Cougars, and local high school athletes. She also trained under Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons and performed complex microvascular surgery, soft tissue reconstruction (including flaps and skin grafts), and replantation of amputated digits. Her combined training in Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery allows Dr. Ashok to address both bony and soft tissue conditions and provide comprehensive care to the hand and upper extremities. Dr. Ashok also spent time training at Texas Children’s Hospital and treated a variety of congenital hand deformities and pediatric hand and upper extremity trauma.

- Hand, finger, wrist, forearm, and elbow fractures
Dr. Ashok was raised in Philadelphia, PA, and currently lives in The Heights. She enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
