Dr. Hays was raised in Houston, Texas, and is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based orthopaedic care to the community he proudly calls home. His goal is to help every patient return to the activities that matter most to them—whether that means competing in sports, returning to work, or enjoying everyday life without pain.
Medical Specialization & Education
Dr. Hays is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. His practice focuses on the treatment of sports-related injuries involving the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and ankle, as well as knee, shoulder, and hip joint replacement surgery, general orthopaedics, and fracture care.
Dr. Hays received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. He then earned his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, one of the nation’s most prestigious medical honor societies, recognizing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and professionalism.
Dr. Hays completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha before returning home to Houston for advanced fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. During fellowship, he served as an assistant team physician for several professional and collegiate teams, including the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, and the University of Houston Cougars.
In his free time, Dr. Hays enjoys staying active and spending time with his wife and daughter.
